Let’s talk about what paint is made up of. It is made up of solvents, pigments, and resins. The solvent in the paint helps the painters be able to put the paint on the walls evenly. It will evaporate after it has been put on the walls. The pigment is the color that goes in the paint. The resin binds the pigments together so that you can get a color for your project. The reason why you don’t want low-quality paint is because the paint is diluted. When you go with a higher quality it gives you better color and better paint.
Surface Painting Preparation Needed
When you start a painting project you need to know what you need to get before you start painting. It is not just the paint you need to get.
Primer – You need to get primer. You apply the primer before you apply the paint.
Paint Brushes, Rollers & Trays – You of course need paint brushes and rollers depending on how big of an area you are doing. There are many different paintbrushes and rollers that you have to choose from. You also need to get the trays so you can dump the paint in when you use your roller.
Tape – You need to tape off areas that are not going to be painted such as baseboards when painting a wall. With taping off you will also get a straight, clean line.
Drop Clothes – As much as you don’t think you will spill paint, it always happens. You get splatters on your floor or wherever you are painting. You need to use drop clothes so the paint lands on the cloth and not on the floor.
How Important is Paint Quality?
When you are searching for paint, you may want to get the cheapest kind out there so you save some money. But that isn’t always the case and going in with a better quality paint is worth the price. Here are some reasons why. You don’t have to do as many coats. It is better paint so it goes on evenly and covers the project better while using less paint. It saves you time because you do not have to do as many coats. Because you don’t have to use as much paint it actually saves you money in the long run.
